This cartridge lube filter (Hengst reference E510H07 D254) measures 10.35 in long with a 4.76 in outer diameter and a 2.09 in inner diameter, and ships as a kit with the element and its seal rings. Fitting a fresh cartridge and fresh seals at every oil service is what keeps the element at full flow and stops the bypass valve opening early — which is the moment unfiltered oil starts circulating through the engine.
